‘Promotion’ of Margaret Heckler
Whenever I read or hear the term, “The Great Communicator,” applied to President Reagan I cringe.
When he tells me Margaret Heckler really wanted to be the ambassador to Ireland; James Watt was a fine public servant; lower taxes and higher military budgets will balance the budget; trees cause smog; Social Security checks are sacred; the “Freedom Fighters” are fighting for freedom; catsup is a vegetable; Grenada posed a threat to American security; American farmers are responsible for their own problems; nuclear electric generating plants are safe, clean and economical; Ed Meese is qualified to be attorney general; the $2-trillion national debt is just going to go away, I can’t help but feel the term, “The Great Prevaricator,” would be more appropriate!
