Condemned Man Refuses Help

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Condemned killer William Vandiver refuses to appeal his execution set for this week, frustrating civil rights groups that need his consent to fight for a reprieve, his attorneys said today. Vandiver, 37, faces electrocution for the 1983 stabbing death and dismemberment of his father-in-law, Paul Komyatti Sr., 65.
