The embittered ex-G.I., as played by Sly Stallone in “Rambo,” is the winner of Outtakes’ Great American Hero contest. He outgunned Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Matrix of “Commando,” with Commie-fighter Matt Hunter (Chuck Norris in “Invasion U.S.A.”) a distant third.

Final tally: Rambo 53%, Matrix 27%, Hunter 17%, with creative write-ins like Mr. Potato Head, Bruce Springsteen, Rowdy Roddy Piper and Mickey Mouse making up the difference.
