Former President Richard Nixon will announce his decision in the dispute over postseason pay for baseball umpires Monday, a spokesman for Nixon said.
The umpires could not agree with league officials on payment for working extra games when the playoffs were expanded this season from a best-of-five format to the best-of-seven format. They agreed to work through the playoffs in exchange for binding arbitration.
