Dozen Valley Racers Take On Baja 1000

ENSENADA — More than 200 riders and drivers in 31 off-road vehicle classes started this morning in the 18th SCORE Baja 1000.
A dozen Valley area drivers are competing in the 822-mile event, which ends Saturday.
The course is a combination of natural terrain and dirt road. The race will end in this coastal city about 70 miles south of the U.S. border.
The race, which is run against the clock as well as against other drivers, will last about 24 hours with checkpoints at nine locations around Baja.
