Senate OKs Ban on Using Vehicles While Intoxicated

WASHINGTON — The Senate passed and sent to the House on Thursday a bill making it a federal criminal offense to operate trains, buses, boats or planes in interstate commerce while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The proposed law provides for penalties of five years in prison or a fine of $10,000, or both.
