Couple Killed as Their Car Hits Parked Truck

An elderly Tujunga couple were killed Saturday when their car slammed into the back of a truck parked on the shoulder of the Simi Valley Freeway in Granada Hills, the California Highway Patrol said.
David Souberman, 69, and his wife, Suzanna, 68, were killed instantly in the 1:30 p.m. accident just west of Balboa Boulevard, officials said.
CHP Officer Monty Keifer said David Souberman was driving west at about 55 m.p.h. when the car struck the rear of the tractor-trailer rig.
