Rambo Caught in War on Violence

LONDON — Rambo has been shot down by the BBC.
The British Broadcasting Corp. has canceled plans to show “First Blood” as part of its Christmas schedule.
The announcement came three days after Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said the government was considering action to curb the amount of violence and sex on British TV.
Michael Grade, controller of one of two BBC channels, said the network decided to postpone the film starring Sylvester Stallone and telling the story of disillusioned Vietnam veteran John Rambo until a more suitable time could be found.
