Voters go to the polls today in the Los Angeles City Council’s Eastside 14th District to elect a new council member. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and a 35% to 45% voter turnout is predicted by City Clerk Elias Martinez. If one of seven candidates running receives at least 50% plus one vote, he or she wins. Otherwise, a runoff will be held early next year between the two who receive the most votes.
