Having lived in the General Telephone service area for almost two decades, I thought I was beyond surprise. Imagine my feelings when I called information to get General Tel’s new headquarters phone number in Westlake and was told there was no listing. I tried again and was told the same thing. I explained that I had been in the building the previous day (425,000 square feet of it), but to no avail.
In my opinion, the government broke up the wrong phone company.
