Brea : Water Cut to 7 Homes After Main Ruptures
- Share via
For about seven hours early Thursday seven homes were without water after a main ruptured under the street in front of 695 Driftwood Ave., city fire and water department spokesmen said.
It was unknown what caused a 5 1/2-foot-long slit in the eight-inch diameter water line.
When firefighters arrived about 1:30 a.m., water was gushing through the pavement, a fire spokesman said.
Workmen turned off water to homes in the area while repairing the damage and were busy Thursday filling a 100-square-foot hole in the street caused when the undermined pavement collapsed, spokesmen said.
Water service was restored at 9:15 a.m.
