A Santa Ana man was in critical condition on Sunday after a longstanding argument with a friend resulted in a stabbing, police said.
Baldomero Mendoza and Manuel Ostorva, both immigrants from a small town in Mexico, were arguing about 6:30 p.m. at their residence at 1125 S. Standard Ave. when Mendoza, 31, took out a knife and stabbed the other man, said Santa Ana Police Sgt. Art Echternacht.
“The argument was related to something that occurred in Mexico several years ago,” Echternacht said.
Ostorva, 21, was in critical condition at Western Medical Center with multiple stab wounds. Mendoza was booked on a charge of attempted murder and held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
