The Region : Former Officer Sentenced

A former Compton police narcotics officer who pleaded guilty to stealing six grams of cocaine seized under a search warrant has been sentenced to five years’ probation. Superior Court Judge Clarence A. Stromwell also ordered Theodore Brown to enter a drug rehabilitation program. After growing suspicious of Brown, Compton police investigators last June directed Brown to search a bedroom in which they had planted 16 grams of cocaine. Brown was arrested after he turned in only 10 grams as evidence.
