The Burbank Certified Farmer’s Market, which draws more than 2,000 customers to downtown Burbank each week, will operate from a vacant city-owned lot at 3rd Street and Grinnell Drive beginning Friday.
The outdoor market, run by the St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation, had to vacate its site at 1st Street and Orange Grove Avenue to make way for redevelopment construction.
Market operators had intended on moving to a parking lot at George Izay Park, but ran into opposition from residents concerned about traffic and crosswalk safety.
Joanne Sugar, a spokeswoman for the market, said the new location will be used for at least four months.
