The Stockton City Council has decided against trying to oust Councilman Ralph Lee White. Special attorney Bert Deixler recommended impeachment and contended that there is “clear and convincing” evidence that White was involved in voter fraud during a recall election last year. However, a resolution to start impeachment proceedings died for lack of a second. Earlier, Municipal Judge James Teaford dismissed criminal charges that White intimidated voters and interfered with the secrecy of voting.
