Board Hikes Assessor’s Salary 15.5% to $83,000

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a 15.5% salary increase for the county assessor to $83,000 a year, beginning July 1.
Assessor Alexander Pope probably will not benefit from the increase, since he is expected to leave the job in June to seek a vacancy on the state Board of Equalization.
