An 85-foot boat with 16 fishermen aboard was beached on Mission Beach Wednesday morning after it sprung a leak. The San Diego-based Fortuna was still stuck Wednesday night. A tug was to attempt to pull it free at high tide.
Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer James Bourque said the boat’s skipper ran the craft aground after a salt-water pipeline to a live bait tank on the vessel broke and began flooding the boat.
