National Micronetics reported a $4,000 profit for the second fiscal quarter ended Dec. 28, compared to a $3.2-million loss during the same quarter a year ago. Revenues fell 8% to $10.4 million.
The company recorded a $106,000 profit for the first half of the year, compared to a $9-million loss last year. Revenues fell 14% to $20.8 million.
Although “restructuring and cost reduction programs have resulted in improved performance . . . difficult industry conditions have depressed sales,” said a company spokesman, who added that National Micronetics “believes that it is now seeing some increases in market demand.”
