Chairlift Accident Victim Identified as Laguna Woman

A 78-year-old woman who plunged 25 feet to her death from a motorized chairlift in South Laguna was identified Saturday as Madge T. Allen of South Laguna.
Allen died at 1:30 p.m. Friday when a cable broke on the “cliff chair” that she was riding from the beach to a cliff-side home.
The accident occurred at the southern edge of Thousands Steps Beach, an Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.
