LAS VEGAS — Freddie Banks scored 27 points and Anthony Jones added 26 Monday night to lead Nevada Las Vegas to a 92-83 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. victory over Cal State Fullerton.
The Rebels (13-1 in the PCAA and 25-3 overall) led 46-40 at halftime and went on a 24-8 spurt during the first 8:30 of the second half. Four minutes later, UNLV increased the gap to 84-58.
The Titans (6-9, 13-14), behind the hot shooting of Herman Webster and Henry Turner and with the aid of sloppy ballhandling by the Rebels, chopped 15 points off the lead in four minutes.
