Indoor Tennis Tournament Draws Top Collegiate Teams

Men’s teams from UCLA, USC and Pepperdine will begin play today in the USA/Intercollegiate Tennis Coaches Assn. indoor team tournament at Lexington, Ky.
The field is composed of the top 16 college tennis teams in the country, and four of the first five seeded teams are from California--No. 1 Stanford, No. 3 UCLA, No. 4 USC and No. 5 Pepperdine.
UCLA’s Brad Pearce, undefeated in dual match play this season, will play No. 1 singles for the Bruins. Rick Leach will play No. 1 for USC, and Kelly Jones, a two-time NCAA doubles champion, will play No. 1 for Pepperdine.
