DIGESTING RAOUL

Paul and Mary Bland, the prudish but murderous couple from Paul Bartel’s “Eating Raoul,” are running--”jointly”--for governor of California.

That’s the scenaRio Bartel’s concocted for the sequel “Bland Ambition.” The campaigning Blands, needing a child for a correct family image, apply at an “unsavory orphanage run by John Waters,” according to Bartel. They get a precocious brat who outshines them on their weekly show, “Meet the Blands.” She also decides to blackmail them. That’s when they decide she has to meet with “a tragic accident.”

Bartel said a script’s done but no deal is set. He and Mary Woronov will again co-star. He hopes to film this summer.
