McGowan Elected Head of State General Contractors

M.B. (Tim) McGowan, president of J. H. Pomeroy & Co. Inc., Petaluma, has been elected 1986 president of the Associated General Contractors of California, succeeding Robert E. Kruse, president of Kruse Construction, Sun Valley.
Other officers are Al R. Shankle, president of Al Shankle Construction Co., Anaheim, senior vice president; Jerry Toll, vice president of Kiewit Pacific Co., Arcadia, vice president, and John O’Shaughnessy, president of O’Shaughnessy Construction Co., Goleta, treasurer.
Richard B. Munn, executive vice president, continues as secretary of the 1,750-member association whose member firms perform nearly 70% of all nonresidential construction dollar volume in California.
A fourth-generation contractor, McGowan has been in construction management for 30 years. He has served on the association’s state board since 1977, and is a past chairman of both the long-range planning committee and the environment and energy committee.
