The Los Angeles chapter, American Institute of Architects, will hold two programs this week, known as Westweek, in the West Hollywood Auditorium of the Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave.
“Architecture for Art,” an analysis of four museums by architect, critic and user, will be held on Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and “The Design Process/Southern California Interiors,” an overview of the winning entries in the annual interiors competition for architects and designers, will be held on Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The first program will feature Peter Black, chairman of the department of architecture and planning at the Catholic University of America, and James Elliott, director of the University Art Museum at UC Berkeley, as moderators and Frank Gehry, Max Gordon, Cesar Pelli and Norman Pfieffer as panelists.
The second program will feature Steven D. Ehrich as moderator and Thom Mayne, Jill I. Cole, Rob Quigley, Johannes Van Tilburg and Joseph D’Urso as panelists.
Admission to the programs is free, but it is necessary to register at the door for Westweek.
