Lonell Phea and David Roberson, wide receivers for University of Houston in the late 1970s and early 1980s, signed sworn affidavits stating they received money from coaches, including Coach Bill Yeoman, the Houston Post reported.

Phea said he received at least $18,000 in four years. Roberson said he received from $8,000 to $10,000 during his four years.

The newspaper quoted Houston Athletic Director Tom Ford as saying the university will conduct an independent investigation into the allegations.
