Rain Memories

Dear Judith Morgan has done it again with her “sightseeing in the Rain” memories (Feb. 16). The Chicago Museum of Art is a wondrous place, but I like best the exquisite miniature rooms of the Thorne Collection in the basement. It wasn’t even raining, but eating in the covered dome of the lunchroom was an experience unforgettable. Such delicious food!
Jerry Hulse’s revisit to Puerto Vallarta (also Feb. 16) brought memories of our visits there in the middle ‘50s. We were attracted because the tourist bureau told us “no animales!” very proudly. We found no cockroaches, scorpions or lizards, also no flies. We were in a hotel right on the beach. It still sounds a little more touristy today, but we may give it a spin.
