Iran Says Iraq Made a Whale of a Mistake : Iraqi Jets Kill Whale--Mistook It for Tanker

NICOSIA, Cyprus — Iran said today that Iraqi warplanes killed a whale with a rocket, claiming Iraq has made the Persian Gulf “unsafe for marine life.”
Iran’s official Islamic Republic News Agency said Iraqi jets apparently mistook the nearly 36-foot-long mammal for an oil tanker and fired at it several days ago.
