Flutist Jean Pierre-Rampal and the Canadian Brass will join the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in appearances at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa during the 1986-87 season.
The Canadian Brass will appear with the orchestra on Nov. 24. Rampal will be guest conductor and soloist with the group in a concert scheduled March 16. The two concerts make a total of 12 performances to be presented by the Orange County Philharmonic Society at the 3,000-seat Center.
Previously announced society-sponsored concerts will feature the Chicago Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Warsaw Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Orange County Pacific Symphony and the Pacific Chorale. The 12 events will be offered in two series of six concerts each.
The $70.7-million Center main-theater phase is scheduled to open Sept. 29 with an appearance by Zubin Mehta and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
