School Given Record $25 Million

MINNEAPOLIS — Curt Carlson, owner of the Radisson Hotel Corp., today donated $25 million to the University of Minnesota, a gift the school said was the largest ever made to higher education by a living person.
The donation was made to the school’s fund-raising campaign that set a goal of bringing in $300 million. Carlson, 71, was a Depression-era graduate of the university.
