Joan Sutherland and Luciano Pavarotti will appear together at Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 6 during a four-city concert tour.
Noting separate 25th anniversaries--the Australian soprano’s debuts in San Francisco, Chicago and New York, and the tenor’s operatic debut in his native Italy--the two singers will give concerts together Sept. 2-16.
Sutherland and Pavarotti will begin the tour at the Oakland Coliseum Sept. 2.
Next, the singers will appear in Hollywood Bowl at 8:30 p.m. The concert will benefit the pension fund of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
The tour reaches Chicago Sept. 12 and ends in Madison Square Garden Sept. 16.
Richard Bonynge, Sutherland’s husband, will conduct different orchestras at each stop of the tour.
Tickets for the Hollywood Bowl event range from $250 to $10, the tax-deductible portion from $200 to $5. Tickets are available at this time by mail order only. Write: P.O. Box 1951, Los Angeles 90078.
