Pierce Tennis Team Wins 10th Metro Title

The Pierce men’s tennis team clinched its 10th consecutive Metropolitan Conference championship with a 7-2 victory at Long Beach on Tuesday.
Pierce was led by Doug Merrill and David Garelick. Each won singles matches, then teamed up to beat Sean Ohno and Fred Posner in doubles, 6-4, 7-5.
Steve Yu, Nadir Fararji and Fran Chavez also won their singles matches for Pierce. Anthony Sena defeated Nelson Gary, 6-1, 6-0, for Long Beach’s only win in singles.
The Brahmas (9-0, 13-1 overall) have not lost since their season opener against UCLA.
