McDonnell Douglas Helicopter and Bell Helicopter Textron said they will work together on the large Army LHX helicopter program. William R. McDonnell of McDonnell Douglas will be director of the program. It will be headquartered at McDonnell’s new facility in Mesa, Ariz. The Army plans to buy 5,000 LHXs.
