Moxie Industries Reports Loss of $58,000 for Quarter
- Share via
Moxie Industries Inc., an Anaheim-based manufacturer and distributor of vitamins, nutritional food products and specialty food ingredients, reported a net loss of $58,000 for the first quarter compared to a net loss of $279,000 a year earlier. Sales fell 24% to $8.7 million from $11.5 million.
Company officials said both the drop in revenue and the quarter-to-quarter decline in net loss were caused largely by the sale of the company’s chocolate beverage business as of May 1, 1985. Reduced sales in Moxie’s nutrition division also affected the quarter’s revenues.
The company also said that previously announced discussions concerning the proposed sale of its Dairy-Tech division have encountered “significant obstacles” and that as a result, Moxie has renewed discussions with two other companies which had expressed interest in purchasing the division.
