A San Diego police captain was accidentally struck by a Border Patrol van Tuesday while riding his bicycle, a San Diego police spokesman said.
Captain Jim Sing was riding his bike on California 117 about noon when he was struck by the van, which was entering the highway from some bushes nearby, the spokesman said.
Sing received no serious injuries, but was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment.
