Popov Resigns Job as Villa Park Coach

Val Popov, Villa Park High School’s basketball coach for the past four years, has resigned for personal reasons, Principal Dick Kerwan said. The Spartans have won only two Century League games and had a 9-31 record in the past two seasons under Popov, who will continue teaching at Cerro Villa Junior High School in Orange.
