A man and a 14-year-old boy were hospitalized after a fight between party-crashers and guests at a birthday party in South-Central Los Angeles. Police said a carload of intruders tried to force their way into the party at a house near the corner of Central Avenue and 21st Street, and Modesto Carillo, 20, was stabbed in the back during the resulting melee. Shots were fired at the car as the would-be party-crashers departed, and one struck Hector Jose Garcia, 14, in the head. He was reported in critical condition at California Hospital.
