Prison guards testified that inmate George Jackson was shot and killed after he pointed his gun at an armed guard patrolling the yard at San Quentin Prison. The testimony came in the San Rafael trial of former fugitive Stephen Bingham, who met with Jackson that day in 1971. Bingham is accused of giving Jackson the 9-millimeter pistol used in the escape attempt, in which three guards and two other prisoners were killed.
