Two transients who had just been asked to leave the Beverly Sunset Hotel in West Hollywood were arrested early today for investigation of arson after a $450,000 fire there forced 34 guests to flee, injuring 12.
Five guests were treated at hospitals for smoke inhalation and the other seven received first aid at the scene after the 3:20 a.m. blaze at the 50-room hotel on the Sunset Strip, where the fire was controlled by 4 a.m., Fire Capt. Michael Singer said. Sheriff’s deputies arrested transients Tekie Fesfai, 41, and John Meyers, 21, at the scene for investigation of arson.
