Orange County College Baseball Roundup : Fullerton Gets 19 Hits, Tops San Jose St.

Cal State Fullerton third baseman Pat Garman led a 19-hit attack with four hits and drove in four runs in a 12-5 victory over San Jose State Sunday in Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. play in Fullerton.
Garman had two singles, a triple and a double. He also scored three runs for the Titans, 9-6 in conference play and 32-17 overall. San Jose is 4-12, 16-28.
Designated hitter Keith Watkins and right fielder Dan Howitt each had three hits as the Titans scored eight of their 12 runs in the final three innings. Larry Casian (5-1) pitched a complete game and struck out five.
Fullerton plays host to USC at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
In other PCAA action:
UC Irvine 6, Pacific 1--Anteater senior Bo Kent pitched his third complete game of the season Sunday afternoon, beating University of the Pacific, 6-1, at Anteater Field. It was the last home game of the season for Irvine, which will play its last six games on the road starting with a nonconference game at Pepperdine Wednesday.
UCI’s record went to 6-9 in the PCAA, 17-22-2 overall. UOP is 5-10 and 20-22.
Irvine and Pacific were tied at 1-1 when the Anteaters broke the game open in the sixth inning. Gene Roumimper singled and moved to second on a walk to Doug Kline. After a sacrifice, Roumimper scored on an infield out by Frank Spates. Mike Sugar doubled home Kline after a walk to Stacy Park and Chris Gallego singled home the third run.
