U.S. to Prosecute Man in Death of Mail Carrier

Federal authorities took over prosecution of Kerry Lynn Brown, 25, charged with shooting to death letter carrier Dale J. Hooker as she was delivering mail to his South-Central Los Angeles home last weekend.
The FBI took custody of Brown on Wednesday, before he could be arraigned in Municipal Court. The U.S. attorney’s office then charged him with murder of a federal employee and he was arraigned in Los Angeles before a U.S. Magistrate. Brown was jailed pending a bail hearing Wednesday.
