Laboratory tests found no illegal drugs in the Kentucky Derby’s top three finishers, Churchill Downs officials said.
The blood and urine samples taken less than 15 minutes after the race showed that first-place finisher Ferdinand and second-place Bold Arrangement had no drugs in their systems. The 14 other horses had been given one of two legal drugs, either Lasix, a diuretic, or Butazolidin, an anti-inflammatory drug.
