Swedish Youths Protest Lockout of Teachers

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Secondary school students throughout Sweden deserted classrooms Friday to protest a planned lockout of teachers that would leave them without final grades.
The county councils plan to lock out teachers Monday in reprisal for a week-old selective strike for higher salaries by 9,000 doctors and other health workers that virtually shut down 10 hospitals.
