HAWKINS JOINS KHJ

Tommy Hawkins was named Friday to join Meredith MacRae as co-host of “Mid-Morning Los Angeles” on KHJ-TV Channel 9, a station spokeswoman said. His first appearance on the weekday talk and information show will be Monday.

Hawkins, who hosted a morning talk show at KHJ-TV from 1972 to 1976, replaces Geoff Edwards, who left the station last spring. A former professional basketball player, Hawkins had been co-hosting a sports show at KABC radio until last March, when his contract was not renewed.
