Dan Castanon, an assistant coach at Tustin High School for the past two seasons, was named head football coach at Santa Ana Valley Tuesday night, according to Rudy Castruita, assistant superintendent of the secondary division of the Santa Ana Unified School District.
Castanon becomes the fourth football coach at Santa Ana Valley in four years. He will replace Dick Linder, who decided not to return after coaching the Falcons last season. Linder had replaced Willie Williams, who resigned two weeks before the 1985 season. Santa Ana Valley was 1-9 last season, 0-10 in 1984.
