Arcadia : Hearing on Moratorium
The City Council will hold a public hearing Tuesday on extension of the 45-day moratorium prohibiting any new subdivisions in a 33-acre area in the southeastern part of the city where many residents keep horses. The moratorium, designed to allow the city time to study the issue, was passed after 53 of the 88 property owners in the area signed a petition protesting that recent proposals for new subdivisions would reduce lot size and have an adverse effect on horse properties. The council is expected to extend the moratorium but must hold a public hearing before voting on the matter.
