After nine years at KNBC (Channel 4), Stu Nahan has been dropped as principal sports reporter, a station spokeswoman said Friday. His final appearance on the air was Thursday night, even though his contract doesn’t expire until August, she said.
The station said it was making its decision not to renew Nahan’s contract now “to give Nahan a chance to explore other opportunities.”
Fred Roggin, who has been handling sports reporting on KNBC’s 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. weeknight newscasts, will take over Nahan’s duties on the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. news shows as well.
