Minister Defended

I would like to register a strong objection to your June 19 story by Bill Manson on the front page of the View section. The headline was “ ‘Friar’ for Hire Creates Goof-Proof Weddings in the Air, on the Beach.” This article painted a picture of a shallow, money-grubbing opportunist who is so bored with his parochial duties that he has resorted to the outre and the semi-sensational to line his pockets and relieve his boredom.
I resent this completely false portrayal of a dedicated and devoted minister who has spent 25 unselfish years conscientiously tending the spiritual, and many times physical and financial, needs of his parishioners. You have maligned a superior pastor and a really fine human being. Shame on you.
