Minneapolis-based General Mills reported that it posted a $42.2-million profit in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year, a turnaround from the net loss it suffered in the same period of 1985. In the fourth quarter of 1985--a year in which the company spun off major non-food units including Kenner Parker Toys and Crystal Brands--General Mills posted a loss of $108.5 million. Charges associated with the restructuring totaled about $34.6 million in the fourth quarter of 1985 and $44 million for the year, the company said.
