A woman suspected of shooting another woman in a “love triangle” in Granada Hills surrendered Thursday to Los Angeles police, authorities said.
Karin Marrero, 24, of Los Angeles was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the shooting of Pier Merriweather, 24, of Detroit, Lt. Rick Violano said.
Merriweather was wounded about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday after Marrero found her in the Granada Hills home of Marrero’s “estranged boyfriend,” Detective Wayne Newton said.
“It was apparently a love triangle,” Newton said.
Merriweather, who was visiting from Michigan, was shot twice and was wounded in her arms and stomach, police said. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills in serious condition and is recovering, Newton said.
Marrero was released on $50,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment July 23, Violano said.
