Globe-Circling Warm-Up Resumes

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE — The experimental aircraft Voyager soared into the heavens Thursday, a day after it was forced to land during a test flight to determine if it can circle the globe without refueling.
Dick Rutan and co-pilot Jeana Yeager, uninjured when they were forced to land the craft Wednesday because of engine trouble, are optimistic that the 4 1/2-day test flight will be completed and that they can attempt their nonstop global flight in September, a spokeswoman for the crew said.
